The Keys to a Successful Family Living

There are three primary things that each family member must do, these 3 includes the following: being open with your emotions and thoughts, practice self-discipline and most importantly respect. When a person wants to live peacefully with their family, this doesn't mean they are giving everybody in the family a silent treatment. Living harmoniously with your family means you respect individual differences among family members, you know your limitations and you can effectively communicate your thoughts and feelings.

1. High Regard to Everyone's Personal Thoughts and Opinions

Knowing when to acknowledge a certain achievement done by one of your family members is a good way of showing you are paying attention to them and you are affectionate too. One of the best ways to do this is respect their personal space, ideas and even their emotions. Take for example, if a particular member of your family feels lonely then you must not let it pass and just leave them alone. Ask them what's going on and the reasons why they are having such gloomy face. Don't feel like you have to do something in order to fix the problem because this is their own battle, what you can do is to be their for them and give them support in anyway you can.

Another form of respect is being polite to everybody. Even those simple thank you and please is already a sign of being polite. Another thing is asking how was their day is another thing.

Another thing that you need to know is that respect for a person's ideas doesn't mean you will conform to what they are telling you. Everyone has their own idea so perhaps you can also share your thoughts about a certain topic. There might be moments that you feel so happy with the line of thinking that your kids have but there would also be times that their thoughts are just not appropriate. Sometimes what they really need is guidance and the wisdom of adults who have longer experience whenever their ideas are not that really good after all experience is the best teacher. The way children see this world is entirely different. If you are able to listen to what they are really thinking you'll be surprise how wonderful it is and you can even learn something from it. It would be good as well if you are able to expound why a certain concept won't work and just let them put their ideas into action as long is this will not cause any harm.

But the sad thing is people seemed to disregard the age of the person they're talking to that is why respect is vital thing in one's family. One of the common reasons why people don't bother listening to what others has to say is that they feel like the ideas they have are just senseless and absurd. At this point, those people has their entire lifetime to learn things and understand the essence of respect.
